Danubius Grand Hotel Margitsziget - Budapest

Built in 1873 on the lush green and quiet Margaret Island in the centre of Budapest, the Danubius Grand Hotel Margitsziget reflects the turn-of-century atmosphere of a hundred years ago. The hotel is connected to the neighbouring Danubius Thermal Hotel Margitsziget by a heated underground corridor thus enabling guests to benefit from the services of both hotels. The Danubius Health Spa Resort Margitsziget boasts one of Europe's top health spas offering treatments based on the utilisation of 3 of the island's natural thermal springs. Only minutes away from the centre of the capital, this is literally an island of calm and relaxation. The island stretching over 4 kilometres is a protected leafy botanical parkland with ancient trees, a Japanese garden, a rose garden, an open-air amphitheatre, traversed by walking and jogging tracks. Bicycles, horses, carts and electric buggies can be hired to get around.

There is a connecting corridor between the Danubius Thermal Hotel Margitsziget and the Danubius Grand Hotel Margitsziget. The services of both hotels are at your disposal. Therapies are based on the utilisation of the 3 thermal springs of Margaret Island (with calcium, magnesium, potassium and sulphur contents). The diagnostic section features a laboratory, ECG Balneo- and hydrotherapy with thermal baths, underwater jet massage, carbon dioxide baths, weight baths and mud-pack. Physiotherapy: electrotherapy (low- and high-frequency therapies) individual and group medical gymnastics, medical massage, underwater gymnastics. Spa therapy guests are kindly asked to bring their medical report.

There are open-air theatre performances in July and August on the island.

When arriving by car please note that cars can only access the island via Árpád Bridge. Public transport: Take bus number 26 from the western railway station or the Árpád bridge (Pest side).

The Széchenyi Restaurant is our fine-dining room with magnificent views of the park and featuring international, domestic and diet cuisine, with a wide selection of Hungary's best wines. Enjoy outdoor dining in summer on the terrace and in the garden. In the evenings a gypsy orchestra provides entertainment. The Begonia cafe and terrace, the Gösser Brasserie, the ice cream salon and the Victoria bar are inviting places as well.
