GENERAL INFORMATION
The hotel was built between 1931-35 according to the plans of Tivadar Kocsis architect in Neo-baroque style. The castle was originally planned for the auditing office of the Ministry of the Interior. The Castle Hotel is owned by the Ministry of the Interior nowadays as well, but besides the employees of this ministry it is open to everybody. The beautiful Neo-baroque hotel is located 150 meters from the shore and it offers ideal conditions to a family holiday and to organize social programmes and weddings. Our main aim is to help our Guests to escape from the hurry and indifference of weekdays. We would like to assure your pleasant stay and recreation with the following: with atmospheric bungalows in our well-kept and shady park, with the Neo-baroque apartmans in the main building, with our restaurant, with our children-friendly services and with the help of our devoted staff.
HOTEL INFORMATION
Tennis court with plastic cover, rent a bike, table tennis, trening hall. With the exception of the tennis court, all the other services are free of charge. The lovers of angling can angle at our landing-stage and at the pier. AREA INFORMATION
It is one of the nicest small settlements, which is encircled by the Keszthely- and Szigliget bay and it is situated like a peninsula. From the north the gentle ranges of the Keszthely-Mountains with its forests surround the village. From a small hill called Szépkilátó (Beautiful view) the traveler can see the picturesque view of the lake and the dormant vulcanic mountains. Balatongyörök is an ideal holiday resort for those who can appreciate the beauty and clamness of nature and at the same time they would like to enjoy the silky water of Lake Balaton, water sports, the culinary joys of the wine-region and feel like taking part in varied programmes. The bicycle-road offers superb posibilities for bicycle tours, the lovers of angling are waited with a long shore being suitable for angling and they can rent a boat at the boat-stage. On the lido, having great facilities, there are gradually deepening shallow parts and quicker deepening ones, there is a playground, a pool for children, children animation, a slide, a volleyball ground, tennis, possibilities for surfing and sailing and you can also hire water-bicycle.
TRAVEL INFORMATION
Balatongyörök is situated in the north-western part of Lake Balaton, six kilometres from Keszthely.From Budapest you have to drive on Motor Road M7, then on Rd. 7 along the southern shore to Balatonkeresztúr, from there our settlement can be reached on Rd.71 through Keszthely.If you choose the northern shore then you have to travel on Rd. 71 through Balatonfüred towards Keszthely. From Rd. 71 you have to bend towards the centre of the village and you travel along the high street called Kossuth street, where you drive about 1,5 kilometres and on the left side of the street a church can be found, where you turn left. The slightly sloping road leads to the hotel, where if you turn left again you find yourself in the car park of our hotel.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
On the groundfloor of the main building six apartmans in Neo-baroque Style, one Neo-baroque room with a bathroom and a not an exact apartman can be found.The apartmans consist of one or two bedrooms, a living-room and a bathroom with a shower.The four three-roomed apartmans can accomodate five persons, the three two-roomed can lodge two adults and two children. The rooms are equipped in the following way: colour TV, telephone, fridge, safe.To the apartman-which was planned not in Neo-baroque style- belong a balcony and a kitchen.The rooms are non-smoking ones. In the park of the hotel there are twenty bungalows with American kitchen, which are available for families and friends.Our guests living in our bungalow do not have to leave their pets at home.In our bungalow being 25m2 you can find a little bedroom with two separated beds, there is a living room with a sofa, which can be converted into a double bed and furthermore there is an other sofa, which can be made into a single bed. There is a kitchen-nook in the living room, the bathroom is with a bathtub and there is a terrace. The rooms are equipped this way: colour TV, fridge, dishes, electric cooker with two cooking plates, sink, telephone, casette recorder with radio, fan, terrace furniture. Non-smoking rooms. On the first floor of the main building there are twenty rooms with basins and with two or three beds, where spare beds are also available.
